What you will do

  • Build and manage a sustainable pipeline of prospective C5 clients
  • Develop strategic relationships with executives, leaders, and organizational decision-makers
  • Introduce prospective clients to C5 and its portfolio of services
  • Cultivate prospects from initial contact through readiness for C5 leadership introduction
  • Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and referral networks
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach, pipeline activity, and relationship development
  • Represent C5 professionally, ethically, and consistently in all external interactions
  • Attend professional, business, education, workforce, and community networking events as a C5 representative

Scope of the role

This role is focused on client and business development. The Vice President, Client Development does not independently:

  • Deliver C5 consulting engagements or conduct audits
  • Provide HR, legal, compliance, or organizational advice on behalf of C5
  • Determine client acceptance or develop final scopes of work
  • Establish or modify C5 pricing
  • Negotiate, execute, or commit to contracts on behalf of C5
  • Represent themselves as having authority beyond what C5 expressly delegates

The title Vice President, Client Development reflects the senior responsibility of representing C5 externally and growing the firm's client portfolio. It does not independently confer authority to enter contracts, set pricing, accept clients, or otherwise bind C5.

Compensation

20% commission on eligible collected revenue from qualified clients you directly originate — subject to the terms of the written C5 commission agreement.

This is a 100% commission-based position. There is no guaranteed salary, base pay, hourly wage, or draw. An introduction, proposal, or signed agreement alone does not constitute collected revenue. Full commission terms will be provided to selected candidates.

Required qualifications

Candidates must bring:

  • 10+ years in commission-only or primarily commission-based business development, sales, or client development
  • Demonstrated success generating revenue through direct relationship development
  • Experience building and managing a qualified prospective-client pipeline
  • Proven ability to initiate relationships with executives, business owners, and organizational decision-makers
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and integrity
  • Comfort working independently in a performance-driven, results-based environment

Preferred qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • 15+ years of business development, strategic partnerships, or relationship-management experience
  • Experience selling professional, consulting, or advisory services
  • Existing relationships with executives, nonprofit leaders, education leaders, or public-sector decision-makers
  • Experience across multiple industries or sectors, including small, midsize, and large organizations
  • Background in consulting, HR, organizational development, workforce development, or professional services
  • Experience representing an emerging or entrepreneurial professional-services firm
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced education in a relevant field
